EV 102 – Proclaiming the Gospel

Congratulations to the students who are moving on to EV 102 – Proclaiming the Gospel!  Below is some pertinent information you need to know concerning the course.

Classes Begin: Monday, October 24, 2011 at 7:15 PM Sharp! 

Requirements:
Students must bring their Bible and course textbook to every class.

Required Reading:
Just Walk Across the Room: Simple Steps to Pointing People to Faith (Hardcover) by Bill Hybels

Textbooks are available from the bookstore (Scriptures) located in the lobby of Perfecting Faith Church.

Prior to the start of class, you must read the Introduction and Chapters 1 and 2 (pages 11- 55) in Just Walk Across the Room: Simple Steps to Pointing People to Faith (Hardcover) by Bill Hybels

 

TH 101 – Introduction to Hermeneutics

Congratulations to the students who are moving on to Theology 101 - Introduction to Hermeneutics!  Below is some pertinent information you need to know concerning the course.

Classes Begin: October 24, 2011 at 7:15 PM Sharp! 

Prerequisites:
Students must pass all Bible Survey courses (including BI 101, 102, 103, and 104) prior to attending this course.

Class Requirements: Students must bring their Bible, Strong’s Concordance, Vine’s Dictionary, and course textbook to every class.

Required Reading:
How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart

Textual Criticism** by David T. EJenobo

Textbooks are available from the bookstore (Scriptures) located in the lobby of Perfecting Faith Church.

**Article on “Textual Criticism” will be distributed by the Instructor.

Prior to the start of class, it is suggested that you read Chapter 1 (Introduction: The Need to Interpret), pages 17-31 in How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart.

TH 105/Christology Course

Congratulations to the students who are moving on to Christology.  Below is some pertinent information you need to know concerning the course.

Classes Begin: Monday, October 24, 2011 at 8:35 PM Sharp! 

Requirements:
Students must bring their Bible and course textbooks to every class.

Required Reading:

The Life of Christ: Rediscovering How His Life, Death, and Resurrection changed the World by the American Bible Society

Christology: Jesus Christ by Greg Herrick (Supplied by Instructor)

Textbooks are available from the bookstore (Scriptures) located in the lobby of Perfecting Faith Church.

 BI 103/104 – New Testament Survey 1 and 2

Congratulations to the students who are moving on to either New Testament Survey 1 or 2 or both! Below is some pertinent information you need to know concerning the course.

Classes Begin: Monday, October 24, 2011.  New Testament Survey 1 will begin 7:15 PM (Sharp!) and end at 8:30 PM.  New Testament Survey 2 will begin at 8:35 PM and end at 9:50 PM.

Requirements: Students must bring their Study Bible to class.

Required Reading: There is no required textbook for this course; supplemental reading materials will be provided by the instructor.

Recommended/Suggested Reading: The following textbook was used in developing the lesson plans.  This textbook is NOT required, but may be purchased to enhance your knowledge of the subject matter.

 Talk thru the Bible: A Quick Guide to Help You Get More Out of the Bible by Bruce Wilkinson and Kenneth Boa (Hardcover), Thomas Nelson, 2002.

BI 105 – Psalms

Congratulations to the students who are moving on to BI 105 – Psalms!  Below is some pertinent information you need to know concerning the course.

Classes Begin: Monday, October 24, 2011 at 8:35 PM Sharp! 

Requirements:
Students must bring their Bible and course textbook to every class.

Required Reading:
How to Read the Psalms by Tremper Longman III

Textbooks are available from the bookstore (Scriptures) located in the lobby of Perfecting Faith Church.

Prior to the start of class, you must read the Introduction and Chapters 1 and 2 in How to Read the Psalms by Tremper Longman III

Registration has begun! You can registrator in the lower level of the sanctuary after class and after each service, and online up until Monday, October 24, 2011.  However, we encourage early registration! All fees are non-refundable.
